Located 25 km south of Mount Gambier, right in the heart of cave diving country these spring fed ponds allow snorkellers and OW divers to experience the thrill of spectacular cold fresh water visibility.
This site consists of three interconnected reed lined pools out in the middle of farmland. Permits are needed for groups of 6 or more.

Water temp ranges from 11 to 15 c. Remember it is fresh water so you will need to drop some weight from your belt. Decking and stairs provide easy entry to the first pond, 10m depth and about 40m diameter. The bottom is black mud which is very easily stirred up so be very careful with your fins near the bottom. Fresh water crays, bream and eels are some of the critters inhabiting this strange divesite.
After exploring the first pond head over to the reedy channel opposite the steps and enjoy a current driven drift through to the second and third ponds. The walk back from the third pond is about 300m so you may want to stay in the first pond if using scuba. This site is actually better to snorkel in my opinion.

Other sink holes and cave sites, like Picininni and Little Blue, require cave diving certification.
